Day 1

so here we are in Carlsbad NM.  first third of the trip.  and i have to say, after spending 11 hours in the car, it went MUCH better then expected......
saturday night joe and i spent the night packing and loading and packing and loading.  it went rather well.  the house was clean and the car was packed and we were in bed with our eyelids closed by 11:37 pm.   the alarm rudely went off too early at 4:30 am, we washed our faces, brushed our teeth, and then loaded the babies in- and we on the road by 5:03.  the kids were so awake and SO excited to be on their way to grams and pa's house that when we had to stop for the night here in NM, chunk was near tears because we werent at their house.  sweet?  i would say so!
anyway, the kids were really good!  i think i over packed on snacks though, we have chex mix coming out of our ears!  ugh.  oh well, and then jellybean had a bit of an upset stomach, so we had to make frequent stops at some really random places.  but there were times i had never been so grateful to see a 'hole in the wall gas station' then i was today!  thats ok, she is better now.
chunk was happy to watch movies on the psp, he figured out how to change the movie by just pushing a button, he really is a smart little guy, he is going to give me a run for my money to try and keep up with him!
and then there was poor monkey, all he wanted to do was crawl around!  then, when he wanted to sleep, he just couldnt stay asleep!  he is a really REALLY light sleeper.  so he didnt sleep very well for his naps.  so when we got to the hotel, he went swimming got a bath, and then, he crawled and explored!  it was so exciting, but it is only a hotel room after all, so then he was getting bumped, or he would fall, or something, and he would just cry and cry.  poor guy.  but when he saw his bed, he squealed with delight.  it was really super cute.
and joe and i are just happy they are sleeping. =)  seriously though, they have been good.  we are just tired, its been a LONG week.  but i did NOT pack enough lotion, i think i am going to have to buy some, i forgot how dry the air is over here!.......
oh and i have been taking pictures, we just arent sure where the cord is so that way we could transfer the pictures..... sorry, but i guess we will all have to wait.  =(
