The Super Bowl really is Super

So we watch the Super Bowl.  We make snack foods, and we have a good family time.  98% of the time we really truly don't care who is playing or who is winning.  But we watch.  And we watch TOGETHER.
It has proven to be a time when great memories are made, and I LOVE it.
To see my babies snuggling and laughing with those who will prove to be the greatest influence in their lives is amazing.
We all don't watch, obviously.  We just spend time together in the same room.  Talking, and enjoying each others company.,,

I love it.  For that reason, and mostly that reason- I love the Super Bowl.
I mean, what could be better then family time?

Jellybean's "greatest Valentine's EVER!!!"

So every year at Valentine's Day, there is a Father Daughter dance.  Every year Jellybean is begging to go.  Every year she squeals with delight as we dress her up and get her ready.  It. Is. Adorable.
This year she was concerned that she didn't know how to dance really well, and she couldn't talk Chunk into dressing up to 'practice dancing' with her.  So, she convinced Monkey to.  She picked out her clothes to match Monkeys suit and then she dressed him, and even got one of her flower bows that has a pin on it and pinned it to his suit!  It was soooooo cute!  She got her radio out and they danced for a good 15 minutes before Monkey was tired of it.

It was so sweet and precious to watch how she treated him, and then in turn to see how he looked at her with such love and admiration!

The next day she was ready for the dance!  We primped and primped and enjoyed some girl time before she went on her big date!
She had such a good time!  She was so impressed with how everything was decorated. She did tell me many times how she loved dancing with her 'hamsom date".

I love how he took her.
I love how he matched her dress (on purpose).
I love how much she loves him.
I love how much he loves her.
It was so sweet to watch him take care of her and love her in this way.  It was so adorable to see her look at him with such admiration you could almost touch it.  It was such a good night for them.

GRAMS!!!!

So in January the good old hubs went to China for 10 days for work.  Now, one must understand how I feel when he is gone.  I am pitiful.  I cry when he leaves, and then intermittently while he is gone.  It is ridiculous that I am supposed to be the grown-up and I cry more then the kids.  BUT- things snowball while he is gone.  NO ONE sleeps well when he is gone, therefore as the business trip continues, we all get grumpier and grumpier.  So to make things easier and nicer for us, one of the most ah-mazing women on the face of the planet came to help.  To distract me, and be an extra set of ears and hands.  My mommy came!!!  It was sooooo awesome to be able to spend so much time with her!  Here are some random shots we were able to take while she was here.  There weren't many due to the fact that we were so busy the entire time!  We made a list of things to do while she was here and we got all but few done, and if they weren't completed they were almost completed.  So great!

Lunch....

An early birthday gift,

Chunky and Grams

So, the babies were still stranger shy.  With daddy gone also that made them all the more leery.  Z especially has a hard time warming up.  They weren't snuggily with Grams, but they would "explode" all day long!  The babies got the biggest kick out of it!  It was how they bonded.

Jellybean was so excited that her Grams was there.  She told me for weeks after how Grams was the greatest ever and would ask when she was coming back!

While here, mom had to make her cinnamon rolls.  It is a must.  But since it makes so many- we froze 2/3 the batch and we are still enjoying Gram's cinnamon rolls!

Here I am with Z and Grams/momma.  This is the only way that Z would take a picture with her.  He can be such a stinker pants!

One of the things that we did was baked marbles to make the insides crack.  They were really pretty- it's really hard to do with the dark marbles- get light colored ones and they are gorgeous!

We also finished the Valentines wreaths I made while on bed rest with Z.  I had displayed them other ways but this is my favorite.

Here is the other one that I did.  We came up with a way to hang it.  A heart for each one of my babies!

We also put a vinyl 'frosting on the front door.  At night it's like walking around in a fish bowl- and Hubs and I were planning on doing it, but on the priority list it's number 364.  So momma helped!  We LOVE it!  We have to wait to replace the far left window before we can do the side panels.  But until then...
Those were just the icing on the cake!  There were 20 other things that we finished and 4 that we started for me to finish (which I have).  It was so great!
I really have the greatest mommy every.  I have learned so much from her, and I continue to do so everyday.  I am so lucky that one of my bestest friends is my mom!
Thanks for coming Grams!

the ER for Z

So, I have never had to go visit the ER with my children, probably should have one time with Chunk, but oh well, I later found out that how I treated him, was how they would have treated him.  So I felt pretty good about that.  Well- all that changed today.
Z- I love you.  You can melt my heart at the drop of the hat.  You also give some of the best hugs ever.  You also complete the family!  Without you, a piece of our family puzzle would be gone.  Having said all that, you might kill me some day.  Seriously, I might keel over and just die from complete exhaustion that you put me through each day.  You never stop.  Ever.  You don't even calmly play with things or go from place to place nicely.  You sprint, and dodge.  You smash, you rip, you stomp, you throw, you are rough.  It's hard for me.  None of the other kids have been like this.  That makes it extra hard on me.  Then to make things more difficult, you don't get discipline.  It has no affect on you.  You look at me like I'm nuts, and then your whole world comes crashing down and life is over.  You then get over it really quickly, but you are mad.  Then you get kinda mean.  But you then continue to do everything I just got mad at you about.  Therefore, Son, I am at a loss.  I will continue to try.
Just for the record, your favorite 'games' are:  sharpening makers and pencils and anything that fits into the pencil sharpener, throwing things- including yourself- out the doggie door, chasing the animals, hiding shoes after you wear them around, go to the top of the stairs and throw toys down only to run (emphasis the run) down the stairs pick up the toy and then run back up the stairs only to throw it down again- then repeat, find any writing utensil and color on the closest surface, especially the TVs- that seems to be super fun for you, empty the fridge upstairs that has all the sodas, Gatorade's, and waters in it, empty drawers of whatever, and your all time favorite- collect all the toothbrushes you can, and chew on them, and then find a sink (or the master tub) and run it under the water and drink the water off the toothbrush and then hide the toothbrush so not to get into trouble.  Son, this is only the tip of the ice burg.  This is all I can think of right now, but I know there is more, heaven's knows there is more.
Like I said, you. exhaust. me. completely.  But saying all that, you are such a joy.  You love to pray, you are very helpful, and you have discovered the joy of dishes.  You squeeze with your hugs and give the sweetest kisses at the most random times.  You back up to sit on laps and it makes me giggle all the time.  And your singing- it's to die for.  You LOVE to sing, and you sing all the time!
So let me tell you about how and why we were able to spend this morning in the ER.
I was trying really hard to get lots done today- I have a busy week of just life and Easter stuff, and I was trying to kinda get ahead on some of my daily 'chores'.  I had gotten all of the breakfast dishes in the sink, the counters cleaned off, and the vitamins passed out (when I do that I close the the door to where they are so that way you can't see them and beg for more).  Chunk had stayed home with a temp- and so I knew that I had to get a bit more done, so I can sanitize things, and then snuggle with my poor boy.  So I vacuum the library I see you drag a chair over to the sink area and then shortly hear the water running- I make a mental note to get a towel for the floor I continue to hurry and vacuum.  I finish the living room and I go to check on you only to see the medicine cabinet open and the children's ibuprofen  bottle open and gone.  You handed it to me and said, "Mmmmmm Drink".   I spazzed.  Totally freaked out.  I called Joseph to see how much had been left because he was the one that had given Chunk the medicine.  The bottle was about 1/3 full.  I was shaking.  Joseph was rushing so home so I could run to the ER.  I was trying so hard not to freak out further, and failing miserably, so not to freak you out.  You didn't freak out.  You ate the dog food- which is not un-common.  Then you tried to sharpen a Sharpie.
Joseph get home and marks where he thought it was at before you guzzled.  He gives you a blessing, and I know you will be ok, but I still freak out because I don't know what you will have to go through to be ok.  You sing in the car the whole way there.  I know that's a good thing, but I am going through all these horrible scenarios in my head.  I then swear off all medical shows.  I have to remind myself of the awesome priesthood blessing that we are so blessed to have in our home.  We get to the ER- and they take care of business to slow for me.  But it comes out that you will be great.  You will be kinda loopy and then tired.  Honestly- you never really hit the tired stage.  Afterwards we made a little stop to Home Depot- I got more shelves for the pantry for the shelves to be higher then to keep the meds higher now.  Yeah- never happening again.
Anyway- we now have a medicine box so high in the pantry that I have hard time reaching it.  Yeah- Z you have no chance.
Anyway- we came home and you were as crazy as ever.  It was reassuring and exhausting at the same time.
That was your first experience at the ER- I have a feeling it won't be the last.  You hated the nurses and doctors checking you.  You then would become really sweet and snuggley.  But that was short lived.  It was great to see you doing so well.
Z, I love you.  Please don't kill me.
