so here is the story. after wednesday's false alarm (see previous post) i decided that he was never going to come- i was only dilated to an 'almost 2', and that we really might have to induce on the 30th. so i was just doing my usual cleaning, even though i was having some pains, well they weren't bad and constant so i just ignored them and kept cleaning and playing with the kids. well- the pains got worse and worse, but still i ignored them, and finally at about 4 pm- they were just really uncomfortable (but not constant), so i laid down hoping that would help. it didn't. so i stayed in bed till joseph got home from work and he made dinner and brought me some (food will calm braxton hicks contractions) and then ran me a bath hoping the warm water would help. so i was in the tub for a good hour, and it did kinda help, but still not really. Pain just got worse- i finally was in bed with tears! so we call the dr at 10 and we start counting and they were about 2-4 minutes apart. we pack up and head out and when we get to the hospital at 11:30 and then by the time we are checked in- they check me and i am at a 6!!!!! they give me a pain killer called staydol (sp?). that is some crazy stuff! it made me so drowsy and incoherent, i could barely hold my head up or keep my eyes open! so they run blood test to make sure that i can have an epidural- that takes 20 minutes- and it came back, and it said that i could have the epidural, and they check me again and i was an 8!!!! they call the drug dr- and he said there was no time, that by the time he got there and gave it to me, the baby would be 15 minutes old! they give me booster to help the staydol work longer or more- and the dr comes in at 1 am and was like ok lets have a baby! so at that point i am at a 10 and she breaks my water- which is strange that it had to be broken for me cuz with jerra and claysen, it just broke randomly. anyway- at that point i was still having a hard time staying awake so they bring me gum, hoping that will help and it does, but i am still really drowsy.... until i feel him.... coming. OUCH!!! that really woke me up! i push once, twice, and i thought that was painful!!!! the third time was harsh, and the fourth time was worse!!! so much pain!!!! yikes!!! i would have liked to be bella and just passed out! i push one last time and out he came at 1:33 am! :) they put him on my tummy and he was so sweet and cute!!! :) i then cut the cord and they take him and clean him up and, and, and i was just shocked that i had a baby naturally!!!! no epidural! joe was even impressed that i did that- i believe his comment was- 'wow honey! you were rather amazing! you did it!' and i thought 'i know!!!! i AM good!' he did say i was still really drugged, i said as i was gazing at my son, while he was on my tummy- "he really does have teeth!!!!" i personally dont really re-call that, but whatever. :) joseph and i then try to settle down for the night, and then they make us move because they got like 4 phone calls that people were coming in, and they needed our room, so we move and then sleep. they brought Max in in the morning ( they had to the test and stuff, and it was only like 4 hours or something) and then the kids came to see me!
Here we are- the happy family!!!! jerra was rather enthralled with my 'little tummy' it was kinda funny.
what a proud daddy!
Claysen was actually soooooo excited to hold him! i was really worried. he has had some jealousy issues, but for the most part he really likes max. :)
and miss jellybean cant get enough of him! she has to hold him- all the time! and she loves his 'lil face, an eyes, an nose, an ears!!!!' its really cute to watch.
