so as long as i can remember, when i lived in utah, i had a birthday wish. and that wish, was to have it snow on my birthday. i would go to sleep on the 10th praying that it would snow, hoping, and waiting. sometimes it had flurries, sometimes- usually there was nothing. nothing but the sad, dirty, ugly snow that was still there and filled with rocks and exhaust now visible in the snow that was slowly dying. and it was sad for me. someone asked why i would always wish for it to snow, and it was because i just wanted it to be beautiful. not gray and ugly. not dead. and i think i can remeber 2 times where there was so much snow that had fallen before, that it was still there. but it wasnt pure white. it wasnt still fluffly. finally after 20 years of wishing, and waiting. and moving to texas. my birthday wish came true. majorly!!!!
i have to say i was kinda sad that i was so stinkin pregnant and feeling so prego, that i didnt have the energy to play in it with my kids. but watching was almost as good. seeing their excitment was almost more fun then getting all cold and wet. it helped me relive the igloo building days with dallin and the snowball fights with friends, the snow angels with diana, and again, with dallin- him and i shoveling- and he hitting me in the head with the snow shovel. then later when i refused to shovel becuase of said head and shovel incident listening to my brothers complain about having to shovel- again. heehee- poor kids! lol but i really loved seeing their happiness with the snow. i loved seeing chunk play with his aunt cait. and then trying to explain that his fingers were going to be ok, they were just really cold and red, but they would get 'better'.
i loved jellybeans squeal of excitment when i told her they could go play......
i love that they have the best dad ever, and went a built a snowman with them (those pics/video are on the other camera). i almost think that he was just as excited. i love that they searched our covered yard for things to use for the snowmans face, and buttons. i love the little 'wahoos' that were said when they found the little branched for the arms. i love how monkey and were able to stand on the porch, covered and snuggled, watching in wonder as these giangantic puffs fell from the sky. snow has always amazed me.
i loved that it snowed on my birthday. i love that my boy liked to snuggle up with me and watch the snow fall. i love sitting around the table drinking hot chocolate with the people i love. i loved the red noses. i loved the reason for the red fingers. i loved snuggling under 8 blankets (litterally) with my favorite guy ever falling asleep knowing that the day tomorrow would be beautiful, new, and white. =)
happy birthday me.
